Michael J. Kuhar is a Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar; Candler Professor of Pharmacology; and Chief, Division of Neuroscience, Yerkes National Primate Research Center of Emory University. General interests include structure and function of the brain and the basis of neuropsychiatric disease. Behavioral, anatomical, neurochemical and molecular approaches are used. A focus has been drug addiction, particularly mechanisms of psychostimulants. Development of medications and new treatment strategies has been a theme over many years.
